completely accurate in all details. This outline is simply to provide
some general expectations of a typical season for a typical team.

Start practices mid-October
Games start around December 1
Games end around mid-February
Year-end festivals late February (bantams typically later)
Season ends in late February (bantams typically later)
Bantams
60-70 indoor ice hours
16-20 games
Game:practice ratio between 2.5 and 4
Weekend and weekday indoor ice time
Team may schedule outdoor ice time
Tournament at team’s option and expenses
Year-end festival paid by association
Times per week, typically 4, occasionally 3 or 5, rare case 6
Peewees
55-65 indoor ice hours
14-18 games
Game:practice ratio between 2.5 and 4
Weekend and weekday indoor ice time
Team may schedule outdoor ice time
Times per week: typically 3 or 4, occasionally 2 or 4, rare case 5
Tournament at team’s option and expenses

Squirts
45-55 indoor ice hours
10-14 games
Game:practice ratio between 2.5 and 4
Weekend indoor ice time (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)
Some away games on weeknights
